Akakura Kanko Ski Resort

It's just a 300m walk uphill from Myoko Ski Lodge and you can step onto a run and ski down to lift ticket offices of both Akakura Kanko and Akakura Onsen Ski Resorts (which are interconnected and both of which are immediately adjacent to the village of Akakura Onsen meaning you can easily ski home to Myoko Ski Lodge for a break!

Formerly known as "Akakura Kanko", Akakan Ski Resort is immediately adjacent to Akakura Onsen village and with 760m of vertical is the second largest ski resort on Mount Myoko and will keep skiers and boarders of all ability levels entertained.

 

Trails at Akakan Ski Resort are classed as 40% beginner, 30% intermediate and 30% advanced.

 

The steeper, upper runs cater to intermediate to advanced skiers and riders, whereas the lower, gentler slopes are better suited to beginner and intermediate skiers and boarders.

 

Back country powder hounds will not be able to get enough of the awesome, chair accessed "slack" country accessible from chairlifts 16 and 20. So be sure to bring your beacon, probe and shovel plus a couple of back country ski buddies.
